FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
San Rafael, Calif., -- SBT Accounting Systems, a leading developer of financial accounting software, confirmed a focused middle-market ERP strategy at SBT Launch '99, the company's annual reseller conference held last month in San Rafael, California. ERP refers to Enterprise Resource Planning, which allows company-wide access to integrated information in accounting, manufacturing, service, distribution, customer care and retail operations.
New ERP Benchmark Program SBT's new ERP Benchmark Program establishes industry standards for database integration of mission-critical applications - the number of solutions now available from SBT exceeds 100. Markets served include manufacturing, distribution, service dispatching, customer care and many more.
The ERP Benchmark Program assures consistently high quality integrated solutions that are optimized to share information across functional departmental areas.
On-Line, Real-Time Shared Data "The benchmarking concept was very appealing to us from a quality assurance standpoint," said Lane Giles, senior vice president of product development. "Our database accounting systems provide an ideal platform for ERP integration. The data is on-line, the data is real-time, and the data is shared with dozens of leading industry solutions. The SBT Benchmark Program is our stamp of approval - we stand firmly behind these solutions."
SBT Reseller Channel Steeped in ERP "Most of the SBT resellers I know have at least 10 years experience integrating accounting systems with other applications throughout the enterprise," said Mike Lettini of Lettini & Associates, a leading SBT reseller. "It's no surprise that SBT is uniquely positioned in the ERP middle-market. We've been out here, for a considerable amount of time, providing some really solid applications for manufacturing, distribution, and service businesses. It's great that the industry has finally found a buzzword for what SBT has been doing all along!"
An ERP edge via source code modifiability "SBT software has been completely modifiable from day one, through the provision of source code," said William Mills, SBT's president and chief operating officer, and a former SBT reseller. "If you look at what it takes to successfully implement an ERP system, you'll see that unlimited modifiability of software is a tremendous advantage. I don't know of any other accounting software company that can lay claim to having been actively involved with ERP implementations for as long as SBT has."
SBT Project Accounting Module Announced at Launch '99 SBT announced the acquisition of Comptrol Inc. during Launch '99, lending additional strength to their ERP announcement. The purchase gives SBT's Pro Series a construction job cost and project accounting solution, hence the ability to do project accounting across a variety of industries and project types.
The Comptrol acquisition also gives SBT a new satellite office in Redmond, Washington, at the edge of Microsoft's campus.
Largest reseller event in SBT's 18 year history SBT reported a record turnout of SBT resellers, strategic partners and integration partners at the four-day event Launch '99, themed "Bridge to a New Era,". SBT's partner conference included nationally known speakers such as Scott Adams, the creator of Dilbert, as well as more than 95 reseller-focused breakout sessions.
